More than Boxing

Shaping destinies
A place of transformation and hope
In the center of Cluj-Napoca, we opened a boxing gym. It is a haven for young people and adults looking to transform their lives. It is open free of charge to anyone who wants to participate, offering not only physical training but also emotional and moral support.
About the project
Sergiu: Heart and soul of the project
At the center of this special project is Sergiu, a man who has known both the shadows and the light of life. With an incredible inner strength, father of three children, Sergiu has managed to transform pain and difficulties and become a source of inspiration for those around him.
When you meet Sergiu, you don’t just see a boxing coach. You see a genuine man who has fought and won personal battles. See a mentor who deeply understands the challenges facing young people and adults in his or her community. For this reason, many people with difficulties, addictions, depression are attracted to it. They see Sergiu as living proof that change is possible.
Sergiu has also worked with young people in prison, giving them the chance to see that rehabilitation and change are possible. His genuine experience and dedication make people believe in the possibility of a changed destiny.
More than Box
The boxing gym becomes a place of bonding and bridge building, a real community. Boxing workouts are preceded by discussions about life and morals. Whether girls or boys, regardless of social class, all participants feel welcome and valued.
Here, every punch is an expression of resilience, every training session is a step towards transformation and hope

Testimonials

“I was angry, very angry and I wanted revenge. I had in front of me the person who brought me to this situation. I wanted to hit him… it was the most natural gesture, the gesture I was so used to. Unexpectedly, the words that Sergiu kept repeating to me during boxing training came to my mind… to forgive! It was the first time I didn’t listen to my feelings.”
Participant box

“I love boxing, but most of all I love people. When I look at the people I train, I actually see the people they can become. My deep fulfillment is to help them become better people. Better to themselves and better to those around them. My deep desire is to pass on what I have received and learned from God.”
